Blake Island Shrimp Cruise Canceled
Due to the open season day for shrimp fishing being on Wednesday, May 19th this year, the Shrimp Cruise to Blake Island on May 8-9 is canceled. A new Blake Island cruise is being planned for June 26-27 that will include boats of all sizes, including dinghies, kayaks, prams, etc. that want to camp.
Fal Joslin Race/Cruise
It’s that time again - the FAL JOSLIN. It’s a Race or a Cruise and of course a great BBQ. As tradition dictates, PMYC will host a social and potluck barbecue at Port Ludlow Marina.
Important: A reservation for a block of slips has been made with the Marina. However space is limited!
You must confirm your own reservation with the Marina to ensure a slip. The deadline is May 7th.

Blake Island Cruise
Hello PMYC Cruisers
With the reintroduction of Port Madison Prams to the club's fleet, we have decided it would be fun to start a new cruise tradition and have a few prams sail to Blake Island for a revised "shrimp" cruise on June 26-27. This cruise is open to all cruisers in all boats. The idea for the Pram fleet is to launch at either Fort Ward or Eagle Harbor and to sail to Blake Island in the early afternoon with other larger cruisers providing escort services as needed (i.e. carrying camping gear and supplies and possibly giving a tow if the wind dies or the ebb current is too strong). The cruise will stop at the NW end of Blake Island with the Prams anchoring out for the night with their crews camping ashore (or sleeping on the escort boats (where Covid protocol allows). We hope this cruise will re-ignite some of the small boat cruising our yacht club was famous for in years past.

Club Events and COVID-19
This week Governor Jay Inslee extended the state of emergency to all Washington counties and prohibited “any number of people from gathering in any public venue” until May 5th. Proclamation 20-13 states that this includes “social clubs, private clubs, golf clubs, [and] tennis clubs.” Considering these developments, we will be changing the following events and activities:
No Work Parties; Individual Work Credits
Until further notice, we will not be holding club work parties. For anyone who wants to earn work party credits during this moratorium, we will email and post on the club’s website a list of jobs and instructions on how to self-report to our work party managers the jobs you select and complete.
Limited Clubhouse Use
Until further notice, use the clubhouse at your own risk but do not hold any gatherings there. We do plan on having work party credits for cleaning the clubhouse, but please be particularly conscientious about cleaning all surfaces, doorknobs, utensils, etc. before and after using them, and do not visit the clubhouse if you are ill.
Best wishes to all.
