The Commodore's Challenge Race

This year, the 2026 Commodore’s Challenge takes a new tack where we honor the skippers who bring new talent to the water. Members are encouraged to bring sailors "who require explicit instruction” out sailing, regardless of age. The skipper must be a PMYC member, sailing any boat in Port Madison Yacht Club. Repeat sails count until your new sailor is confident - and you get bonus points for graduating them on to “intermediate!” Please keep track of your mentoring and take photos if at all possible!

PMYC has a full and varied racing season each year for big boats. To find out when races are scheduled this year, view the Big Boat Racing Calendar.  Below is the list of races that are scheduled for this year (check racing calendar for date changes):

• Jim Depue Memorial Race (2/21/2026) - first race of the year
• Opening Day Race (4/26/2026)
• Thursday Evening Keelboat Racing Series (4/16/2026 - 10/1/2026)
• Fal Joslin (6/13/2026)
• Lipton Cup - 6 meter one design 
• Round the Island Race (9/19/2026 - 9/20/2026)
