Regattas

Regattas are one of the best parts of summer sailing. Youth summer regattas are run through the Northwest Youth Racing Circuit, which is designed for sailors of all levels and gives sailors more time on the water while building racing skills.

Registration, Membership, and Coaching Notes

• Northwest Youth Racing Circuit (NWYRC) membership is required for sailors who participate in NWYRC regattas. The 2026 membership fee is $50 per sailor. Reduced-fee or waived membership options may be available for sailors who need financial support.
• Each regatta requires separate registration through the yacht club hosting the event. Parents are responsible for registering their sailor for each regatta they plan to attend. Regatta fees are generally intended to cover the cost of hosting the event. Most regattas waive fees for Opti Green Fleet sailors.
• PMYC Jr. Race Team provides on-the-water coaching for sailors at regattas. Sailors pay only for the regattas they commit to attending. There is a separate PMYC coaching fee of $60 per sailor, per regatta to help cover coaching and coordination costs.

Note: Five summer regatta events are available for the listed boat classes, but six weekends are shown because WIND separates ILCA/C420 and Opti racing into different weekends.

FJ Regattas

Current High School Team members and sailors who are considering joining the BHS Sailing Team next year are strongly encouraged to attend the FJ regattas. These should sit inside the main Regattas section so families can see all racing opportunities in one place.

Clinics

Sailing clinics are a great way for sailors to build confidence, sharpen boat-handling skills, and levelup their racing. Like regattas, many youth sailing clinics are scheduled and coordinated through NWYRC.
