Blake Island Cruise
May 2 - 3, 2026
For you sailors who have not quenched your appetite for fun, food and partying after this weekend's Opening Day festivities, you are in luck! Our much-anticipated shakedown cruise is set for next weekend May 2nd and 3rd to Blake Island.

We used to call this the Shakedown and Shrimp Cruise as the dates would align to the Washington Department of Fish and Game Shimp Opening in Puget Sound, however, once again the shrimp opening has been cancelled this year due to low numbers or shrimp. We will keep the tradition alive by the club providing shrimp from Safeway to fry on the beach as an appetizer.
Don’t forget to pack your hiking boots! We’ll be continuing our traditional hike around the island, a perfect chance to stretch your legs and breathe in the beauty of our surroundings. We’ll drop anchor on the northwest side of Blake Island, offering easy access to the beach and barbecues. It’s the ideal spot to relax and revel in the great outdoors.
Should you arrive before Larry, please form a landing party to secure a campsite/barbecue area. The club will reimburse any costs incurred in securing our dinner spot. Larry will pack up some firewood on Salish Spirit from the club. Bring your own main dish or protein you plan to cook over the fire and a salad, appetizer or dessert to share. Bring your own utensils, plates, glasses etc you require to the beach event.
For those of you who may not yet have a dinghy ready, there should be plenty there if a taxi service is needed - don't use that as an excuse not to attend.
This cruise is not just a getaway; it’s a wonderful opportunity for a spring shakedown. In previous years, we’ve had a flotilla of 10 to 15 boats. Let’s make this year even more spectacular!
