Join renowned expedition sailor Hamish Laird and his child AJ for a rare opportunity to step aboard S/V Seal, a 56-foot aluminum expedition yacht designed for high-latitude exploration. While visiting the Port Madison Yacht Club, Hamish will be offering limited, intimate boat tours — a window into decades of ocean voyaging, adventure, and seamanship.
With over 30 years of experience sailing to some of the planet’s most remote and demanding waters — from Antarctica to the South Pacific — Hamish is a master mariner, designer, and educator. As the builder and captain of Seal, he brings a wealth of knowledge about expedition sailing, yacht design, self-sufficiency at sea, and the deep connection between humans and the ocean.
AJ Laird is a seasoned sailor and integral crew member aboard S/V Seal, the high-latitude expedition yacht built and captained by their parent, Hamish Laird. Having grown up aboard Seal during long-term voyages through the Southern Ocean, Patagonia, and Polynesia, AJ has accumulated extensive experience in offshore sailing, boat systems, and life in remote, self-reliant conditions.
