Round The Island Gunkhole Cruise August 31 - September 2, 2024
It’s that time of year again! We’re excited to announce the annual Round The Island Gunkhole Cruise, taking place from Saturday, August 31st through Monday, September 2nd. This is one of our most beloved cruises, offering a perfect opportunity to reconnect with fellow PMYC members and share summer sailing stories.
Saturday, August 31st: Blakely Harbor We’ll gather in Blakely Harbor on Saturday evening. Our largest boats will anchor in a prime spot with a stunning view of the Seattle skyline at night. The rest of us will filter in during the afternoon, either rafting up or anchoring out. It’s a great chance to relax, share food, drinks, and laughter.
Sunday, September 1st: Rich Passage to Manzanita Bay On Sunday morning, there’s an opportunity to go ashore and hike to Fort Ward or explore the inner lagoon. We’ll depart Blakely Harbor late morning to catch the early afternoon flood through Rich Passage. Slack tide is 11:58 am and a full 2.75 knots going our way at 2:36 pm. We’ll sail to Manzanita Bay for the evening, anchoring at the north end of the harbor to enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the Olympics.
Monday, September 2nd: Manzanita Bay to Agate Pass Monday morning is a time to relax and enjoy the upper ends of Manzanita Bay. Agate Pass is slack before flood at 11:14 am and has a max flood of 3.65 knots at 2:52 pm.
This year’s cruise captains are Langley Gace and Larry Witty.
We hope you can join us for this wonderful tradition. Whether by sea or by land, your presence will make this event even more special.
Fair winds and see you on the water!
