Santa's Visit &
Lighted Boat Parade At PMYC

December 18, 2021

Santa's Visit To PMYC

The event will begin at 3 p.m. on the clubhouse deck with gingerbread cookie decorating, ornament decorating and a hot chocolate station.

We are tracking Santa’s sleigh and expect him to arrive at PMYC around 4 p.m. with gifts for children 10 and under (of course, the big kids are welcome to this event but Santa will only have gifts for the youngest visitors).

Please email your child’s name and age to santa@portmadisonyc.org by Friday, Dec. 10

Lighted Boat Parade

Deck the “hulls” and join us for the Lighted Boat Parade in Hidden Cove.

Decorated boats will depart the PMYC marina at 5 p.m. and PMYC members are invited to send off the lighted ships.

The parade, which is weather dependent, will head toward the entrance to Hidden Cove, pass Fay Bainbridge Park, then turn around and return to Hidden Cove. The boats will go to the end of Hidden Cove then make the final turn for the PMYC marina.

PMYC members are invited to vote for their favorite lighted boats in three categories: Holiday Spirit, Best Use of Lights, and Most Creatively Decorated. The ballots will be available on the clubhouse deck. The winners will be announced after the parade.

Please register for the boat parade by sending an email to santa@portmadisonyc.org by Dec. 10.

If you do not have moorage at PMYC, we will make room for you to raft up before and after the event.

Prior to departure, a Skippers meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the PMYC dock. Parade participants should monitor VHF Channel 72. We encourage Skippers to have a bow lookout, as the holiday lights can make it difficult to see obstacles/hazards in the water. A follow-up email will be sent to those who RSVP for the parade.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Dec. 18 events are planned as outdoor gatherings. Please dress for the weather.

The Santa Visit was previously scheduled for Dec. 11 (as noted in the printed calendar). We apologize if the date change caused any confusion.

We hope to see you Dec. 18. Happy holidays!
