Manzanita Bay Cruise
August 10-11, 2024
Manzanita Bay will be the cruise destination for the August 10-11 weekend because the tides are not favorable for entering/exiting Fletcher Bay that weekend.
This is an excellent cruise for smaller sailboats because the destination is close to home and the current through Agate Pass is favorable. On Saturday, the tide turns to a flood at the north end of Agate Pass at 3:16 PM. On Sunday, the tide turns to an ebb at 10:24 AM. It also counts toward the sailing event requirements for big boat moorage.
The sunset over Olympics will be gorgeous this time of year so plan to anchor at the entrance to Manzanita Bay to enjoy the sunset and warm breezes.
At this time there will be no cruise captain from the cruising committee because we are either out sailing or still in the boatyard. We are looking for a volunteer to be cruise captain. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Keith Fetterman or Langley Gace.
