Around Island Gunkhole Cruise (09/05/2026)

Round Island Gunkhole Cruise
September 5 - September 7, 2025

It’s that time of year again! We’re excited to announce the annual Round Island Gunkhole Cruise, taking place from Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 7, 2026 (Labor Day Weekend). This is one of our most beloved cruises, offering a perfect opportunity to reconnect with fellow PMYC members and share summer sailing stories.

Saturday, September 5th - Blakely Harbor
We’ll gather in Blakely Harbor on Saturday evening. Our largest boats will anchor in a prime spot with a stunning view of the Seattle skyline at night. The rest of us will filter in during the afternoon, either rafting up or anchoring out. It’s a great chance to relax, share food, drinks, and laughter.

Sunday, September 6th - Rich Passage to Manzanita Bay
On Sunday morning, there’s an opportunity to go ashore and hike to Fort Ward or explore the inner lagoon. We’ll depart Blakely Harbor mid- to late morning. We’ll sail through Rich Passage and continue on to Manzanita Bay for the evening, anchoring at the north end of the harbor to enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the Olympic Mountains. With the tides, we will need to be thru the passage by 3:40 PM.

Monday, September 1st - Manzanita Bay to Agate Pass
Monday morning is a time to relax and enjoy the upper reaches of Manzanita Bay before making our way toward Agate Pass and the trip home. If you need to leave early, the Agate Pass current turns to flood at 8:05 AM and turns to ebb at 3:35 PM.

This year’s cruise captain is Jim Llewellyn. If you have questions about the cruise, contact Jim by clicking here (login required.)

We hope you can attend this wonderful tradition. Whether by sea or by land, your presence will make this event even more special.

Fair winds and see you on the water!
